Have you ever wondered if your lens can focus closer than it already does? Imagine being able to place a magnifying lens in front of your camera lens. The Hoya Close-up Lenses work this way and are the simplest and most economical method for close-up photography. They come in various "strengths" (diopters).
These lenses can be used individually or in any combination to achieve extremely close focusing.
The maximum magnification achieved with these attachments depends on your lens's focal length, as well as the focusing capability of the specific lens.
- A +1 lens will allow you to focus your lens somewhat closer than it already does.
- A +2 lens will allow you to focus closer than the +1.
- A +4 lens will allow you to focus even closer than the +2.
- A +1 lens combined with a +2 will equal +3, while a +2 combined with a +4 will equal +6, and so on.
HMC (Hoya Multi Coated)
These popular filters are known for their ability to minimize reflection on filter surfaces, which reduces glare and distortion. The result is an average light transmission of over 97%, providing clear contrast and balanced color. HOYA HMC filters are recommended for enhancing the performance of modern polycarbonate lenses.
