I purchased this after I lost my Plaisio TurboX bluetooth receiver, which worked great.
For context, I have a pair of Philips Fidelio X2HR, which are wired headphones, but the cable can be removed entirely, in case it wears out. However, this means you can put a bluetooth receiver on it to make it a wireless set of headphones. Very useful when walking around the house.
This Ugreen bluetooth receiver had good reviews, so I tried it out. Unfortunately, the sound quality was immediately terrible. There is literally no bass, the treble is way too high, and the richness of the sound in between is lost. For a cheap bluetooth receiver, I'm not expecting miracles, since a cable would be infinitely better, but this was too much loss of quality. It could be a bad unit, since no one else has mentioned this.
I've attached an image of the Spectrogram from Foobar2k, recording from my headphones into my Blue Yeti mic, while playing the 'Crab Rave' song from 29 seconds on (you can find that song on YouTube). On the left is the cable to computer, and the right is computer to bluetooth. Note the lack of bass at the bottom, the highends completely chopped off, and the rest is just 'tinny'. There just wasn't enough volume to the sound either, even after increasing it to nearly max volume.
If I could attach an audio file, I would. I'd equate it to listening to music playing down the phone during a call. The quality is gone, no bass, you get the idea.
The audio loss is too much to accept. While an EQ in Spotify might help out, it won't work for YouTube, or any other app which uses audio. I'll be requesting a return for this product, perhaps it is a faulty unit, and I was just unlucky.
I gave it 2 Stars, because the ease of use was great, and I haven't tested the transmitter properly, only the receiver, nor the battery life, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
[edit] My replacement device had the same issue with audio quality, so I can't recommend this for receiving audio. I've requested a refund for the product.
