For enthusiasts of eging, the Japanese company Daiwa has created an economical solution while maintaining the high specifications of the Emeraldas.
A crucial aspect of the eging technique is the drag system, which in the case of the Daiwa Emeraldas, utilizes ATD technology. This drag is specifically designed for the rear-drag capability that squid use to escape, which can increase and decrease abruptly.
Here we have soft and progressive drags that automatically "listen" to these tendencies and in essence, adjust the amount of tension they allow, or tighten accordingly, even at the moment of hooking.
In combination with the parabolic action of our rod, they do not tear the tentacles and leave no room for unhooking, even in the most superficial grabs. This is an incredible innovation from Daiwa, especially for squid fishing, which elevates our outings to another level.
The maximum drag power of the new Daiwa Emeraldas reaches 12kg.
