Gentlemen Judges, I will not tire you by mentioning more of my thoughts. I was the Leader of the Revolution. I stand before you as the tyrant. Allow me to address you finally with a plea. A plea to the honorable prosecutors and the esteemed defenders of the political prosecution.
I make a plea, gentlemen prosecutors and gentlemen defenders of the political prosecution. A plea to your feelings of love for the people of whom we are members, a plea to your feelings of respect for the history of this people. Do not seek to render a charge of any form intentionally. Do not tarnish the history, the nature, the virtue of this beautiful people, who have lived on this earth for 3,000 years.
I stand before you, and if you believe that there is any intention for what was done, assign it to me. Request my own condemnation to death. Characterize me as the most heinous of criminals. However, do not tarnish the history of these people, who as my co-defendants are called today within this hall to be judged.
They have a history of service to our homeland either in the field of honor or in the field of battle. Do not tarnish them at the end of their lives. You have me, you requested my surrender as the scapegoat for all this tragic history.
Moreover, it has become evident that you intend to support that I was illegal and took these measures against those lawfully claiming the freedoms of citizens. Here is the scheme. If my previous confessions are not sufficient for you. You requested my own head on a platter. Yet, you requested that no intention be assigned to my co-defendants in these crimes.
