The Aesthetics of Humor by Luigi Pirandello differs significantly from the work that is known so far – at least in our country. This is not a theatrical text, a novel, or a novella, but an essay on aesthetics where all his philosophical views are presented.
In this work, which was written during a period of creative pause – from August 1907 to the middle of 1908 – regarding his other artistic and non-artistic activities, we will encounter the theatrical man - in a fit of enthusiasm who records his ideas about contemporary and past art, as well as the material from which it is made. Additionally, his critical analysis is presented regarding what "laws" should apply to artistic creation in our days.
