Description

Description

The HCP 1D is a mono-channel Class D car amplifier, with a minimal heat sink size. All Hertz Compact Power amplifiers are assembled with high-quality components and feature an integrated passive crossover system. Heat is transferred to the heat sink and dissipated through the sides of the amplifier. The HCP 1D is designed for multiple configurations, with pre-amplified Hi-Pass outputs, allowing the creation of a Band-Pass on the front woofer. Using the HRC (Hertz Remote Control) accessory, the subwoofer volume can be adjusted precisely.

    A satisfactory class D amplifier.

    In any installation, a signal should be taken before the HU amplifier, otherwise the distortion produced by the HU will be amplified, as the above mentioned experienced.
    If the HU does not have a pre-out (like all cheap ones), a special amplifier or an option for post-amplification is needed if the chosen amplifier has it.

    The negatives of this amplifier are those of class D. That is, neutral sound and lack of color.
    Depending on personal taste, they can also be considered positive.
    However, below 300€ there is nothing with a similar bass and satisfactory character.

    I bought it because they told me at a store with sound systems that it is good. It plays a lot of treble (to the point of being tiring) and it produces a lot of distortion when played loudly.

    I have installed Jbl gto 600c speakers and I thought that the speakers were to blame for the distortion. Finally, I connected them to play without the amplifier, using the output of the screen's speakers. It plays at a lower volume but without distortion.

    I am disappointed with the stores with sound systems.
