It is easy to assemble. Each level-shelf is separate from the other and can be set up in different combinations. The only problem is that it is not sturdy enough, resulting in the entire shelf moving and coming out of place when you open the drawers. I glued the shelves together with double-sided tape for more stability. It is ideal for cosmetics.
