The tripping curve shows the time required for the circuit breaker to switch off in relation to the current passing through it. For small overcurrents, the tripping is delayed to avoid unnecessary interruptions, while for very high values, such as in the case of a short circuit, the breaker operates immediately to protect the circuit. Different types of curves are used depending on the needs of each installation and the type of loads.
