The splitting axe is made of polished and lacquered iron.
The heavier axe is better suited for larger woods, while the lighter axe is more suitable for the basic splitting of firewood. The shaft is curved and made of hickory.
The axes are handmade, so they may differ in appearance from those shown in the photos. They are made from Swedish high carbon steel using traditional methods that have been in use since 1697. The steel is forged several times for increased density and durability. The axe can be sharpened without reducing the strength of its edge.
