Dyspraxia is a motor disorder that causes difficulties in planning, programming, and coordinating fine movements. This disorder is usually identified in kindergarten through the child's clumsy drawings, difficulty orienting themselves on their paper, awkwardness, and general motor difficulties (dressing themselves, tying their shoes, etc.). A child with dyspraxia also has trouble automating certain voluntary gestures, mainly for writing, which results in dysgraphia. Beyond the difficulties a dysgraphic child has in controlling the formation of letters, this disorder requires more control and attention, which comes at the expense of learning (spelling, comprehension, etc.). This increases difficulties at school.
