Digestive enzymes are produced in the gastrointestinal system and help break down food into its individual nutrients. Abnormal production and function of digestive enzymes, as can occur naturally with increasing age, is associated with inadequate digestion and absorption of nutrients. Food residues that are not absorbed remain in the lumen of the large intestine and are fermented by bacteria in the intestinal flora, causing gas, a feeling of fullness and diarrhea.

Digestizyme® by Lamberts® provides a wide range of plant-based enzymes that help digest proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Plant-based enzymes are high-quality, have a significantly lower risk of contamination compared with animal-derived enzymes, high bioavailability and a significantly lower likelihood of causing hypersensitivity reactions and gastrointestinal disturbances.

The enzymes selected for Digestizyme are highly resistant to gastric acidity, allowing them to reach the small intestine intact, where most digestion takes place. Like all Lamberts® products, it is manufactured in the United Kingdom in accordance with the strict standards of Pharmaceutical GMP.
