Berling ILMA Hybrid PU surface varnish is a one-component, water-based hybrid acrylic-polyurethane varnish for wooden surfaces such as floors, stairs, countertops, furniture and wall panelling. It can be applied indoors and outdoors, to new or previously painted wood, and forms a clear film that enhances the wood grain without yellowing or changing the shade of the painted surface. The matte finish protects against UV radiation thanks to HALS technology and resists impacts, abrasion, mild cleaning agents and household stains while retaining its flexibility.
The surface must be clean and dry, free of dust, grease and oils. Sand and dust new wood, while previously painted surfaces should be sanded in two stages and carefully dusted. On new wood, the first coat may be diluted with water by 5–10% by volume; subsequent coats should be applied undiluted. Apply two final coats, leaving 3 hours between them. Apply with a brush or roller, and clean tools with soap and water.
