The unprecedented crisis the country is going through, following its near economic bankruptcy and the forced recourse to international borrowing and corresponding international supervision, is the outcome of long-term processes.

The autistic political system, the gradual depletion and rampant partisanship of institutions, extensive corruption, lawlessness and impunity, the distortion of incentives, and national inwardness have been underground processes for several years that have led the country to the brink of the abyss.

However, the signs of the crisis were clearly visible well before. You will see some of these analyzed in the articles collected in this volume.
