A child with physical disabilities was determined for Christ, multiplied his talents, and conquered the world! He traveled, excelled, captivated, changed the legislation of the USA, stopped hurricanes, and all of this barefoot, disheveled, lame, and deceitful!

Saint John Maximovitch, another modern Saint, teaches us with his life and supports us with his miracles! We have no choice but to imitate him. The unwavering faith of Father John and his steadfastness in Orthodoxy helped all Orthodox, not only in China and Japan but throughout the Diaspora. In all the dark events, Father John stood like an unyielding rock and a strong support.

One of the most significant works of His Eminence Father John was the creation of an orphanage and shelter for the children of poor families. In doing so, he saved many youthful souls from the slave traders of the East and the hardships of poverty. Specifically, the orphanage started with just 8 little children and reached a total of 3,500!

He always had a heavy wooden icon of the Kursk Madonna hanging around his neck, which was particularly revered by Russian immigrants, and so every time he visited a sick person, he would let them venerate it and read to them the Akathist to the Blessed Virgin.
