Guys, I have had such a cutter for about 8 years now. It requires technique to cut potatoes, not strength. Personally, I don't place the machine on the counter but hold it like a large pair of scissors. I pierce the potato into the blades and, holding the cutter with both hands (one on the handle and the other on the bottom part of the cutter), that's how I cut the potato. There are also hard potatoes that require two or three movements to cut... it needs a little attention. Anyway, after all these years, I am now looking for the same machine because the blades have worn out. Stainless steel manual for home use. It has definitely paid for itself many times over.
Παιδιά έχω έναν τέτοιο κόφτη εδώ και μπορεί 8 χρόνια. Θέλει τρόπο για να κόψεις πατάτα και όχι δύναμη. Εγώ προσωπικά δεν βάζω το μηχάνημα στον πάγκο αλλά το κρατάω σαν μεγαλο ψαλίδι. Καρφώνω την πατάτα στις λεπίδες και κρατώντας τον κοφτη με τα δύο χέρια (το ένα το χερούλι και το άλλο το κάτω μέρος του κόφτη) ετσι κόβω την πατάτα. Υπάρχουν και σκληρές πατάτες που θέλουν με δύο ή τρεις κινήσεις να κοπούν.. θέλει λίγο προσοχή. Πάντως μετά από τόσα χρόνια εγώ τώρα ψάχνω την ίδια μηχανή γιατί έφυγαν οι λεπιδες. Ανοξείδωτη χειροκίνητη για οικιακή χρήση. Τα λεφτά του πάντως τα έβγαλε με το παραπάνω.
It is cheaply made and it shows at first glance. Nevertheless, you say let me try it and if it lasts a reasonable amount of time, you will say it was worth the money. Well, unfortunately, you can't say that about this one. On the 3rd or 4th use, the blades fell apart and went along with the potato.
Είναι φθηνοκατασκευή και φαίνεται με την πρώτη ματιά. Παρόλαυτα λες ας το δοκιμάσω και αν κρατήσει ένα εύλογο χρονικό διάστημα θα πεις τα έβγαλε τα λεφτά του. Ε σε αυτό δεν το λες για κανένα λόγο δυστυχώς. Στην 3η ή 4η χρήση τα λαμάκια διέλυσαν και έφυγαν μαζί με την πατάτα.

Very poor construction, on the 5th potato the cutting knives broke, they became crooked and came out of their position.
πολυ κακη κατασκευη, στην 5 πατατα χαλασαν τα μαχαιρια κοψιματος, στραβωσαν και εφυγαν απο την θεση τους.
