Berling Quartz Tile quartz acrylic primer is water-based, single-component and ready to use. It is intended for smooth, non-absorbent surfaces, where it creates a rough substrate for applying coatings such as Deco Cire microcement.
It can be applied to tiles, wood, concrete, plasterboard, cement boards, galvanized surfaces, aluminium, glass and previously painted surfaces. It has a very low content of organic solvents, is almost odourless and is resistant to alkaline substrates. Its enhanced hydrophobicity protects against moisture ingress, while it can also adhere to surfaces with moisture levels above the usual threshold (>4%).
The surface must be dry and free from oil, grease and loose material. Do not dilute the primer. Stir well before use and periodically during application with a brush or roller. If a second coat is required, apply it after 6 hours. It is touch-dry in 1–2 hours, while full-depth drying takes at least 24 hours. Apply Deco Cire or another coating after 24–48 hours. The Quartz Tiles – Deco Cire system reaches its full strength after 7 days and is intended for walls and floors subject to moderate wear.
