Vivechrom Metalshield Zinc Phosphate Primer is an anti-corrosion primer for iron and steel, as well as weathered or pre-treated galvanised metal. Its alkyd formula contains zinc phosphate and is applied as the first coat on metal surfaces, indoors and outdoors. To complete the Metalshield system, apply two coats of Metalshield Gloss or Satin; together, these products provide protection for the metal for up to 8 years.
Apply with a brush or roller; do not spray. The surface must be sound, clean, dry and free of oil, grease or wax. Remove rust, mill scale and loose paint with a scraper and wire brush; where specified, abrasive blast to grade Sa 2.5. New, shiny galvanised metal requires pre-treatment with Dulux Trade Mordant Solution. Do not apply at temperatures below 5 °C.
