Attention to those taking statins. This particular supplement contains red yeast rice, which is not a simple "herbal" ingredient, but contains monacolin K, a substance chemically identical to lovastatin (a statin). This means that anyone already taking a pharmaceutical statin and at the same time consuming a product with red yeast rice is effectively receiving a double dose of statin, with an increased risk of myalgia, elevated CPK, myopathy, or even more serious adverse effects. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that in supplements the content of monacolin is neither stable nor strictly controlled, as it is in medicines. For this reason, red yeast rice should be STRICTLY AVOIDED by those taking statins. In contrast, supplements such as CoQ10 or Omega-3 fatty acids can, under certain conditions and with medical guidance, have a supportive role. Useful information that is not often mentioned and is good for consumers to know before purchase.

  • I got it to avoid using statins and I was very satisfied with my cholesterol decreasing by 20% over a period of 3 months when I did repeat tests. Of course, I bought it again...
