I am very pleased and comfortable while walking. I had the same issue as the other reviews, i.e. they hit the ankle (the straps around the ankle are quite hard and thick). I solved it with leather shoe grease, which has many options on skroutz with 2-3 repetitions to soften the leather. Also, you wear them with socks for 2-3 hours at home until they soften... then they are fine, I didn't have any issue

In terms of appearance, it is an awesome piece. I must admit that Scrooge's photos do not do it justice... Classic like every Martens, it hits you, and it hits you hard. The ankle straps bothered my girlfriend a lot, but I believe they will improve. I got them as a gift, and she really liked them!
