It is used as a primer for the adhesion of bituminous waterproof membranes and for corrosion protection of metal structures. It creates a continuous black waterproof film, which:
- Is not attacked by dilute solutions of acids and bases.
- Is not affected by salts in the subsoil.
- Is attacked by organic solvents, oils, and chemical cleaners.
