The publication of the Collected Works of J. V. Stalin by Modern Era began in 2010 and will be completed this year with the first volume. Its completion coincides with the anniversary of 100 years since the establishment of the Soviet Union and offers the reading public in our country one of the important sources of the history of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, the USSR, and the International Communist Movement.

For a large part of a whole historical period – which began with the victory of the Great Socialist October Revolution and ended with the post-war reconstruction of the Soviet Union, leading it to the clearing of difficult and unprecedented theoretical and practical problems for the future transition to a higher phase of the communist formation – J. V. Stalin led the Soviet power and the Communist Party, from 1924 until 1953.

He made a decisive contribution both in the field of the practice of socialist construction and in matters of the revolutionary worldview of Marxism-Leninism. He contributed to opening, with the responsibility of the Bolshevik Party, discussions regarding theoretical issues of the political economy of socialism, the national question, and issues of linguistics, philosophy, and many others.

The first volume of the Collected Works of J. V. Stalin includes the works that were written from 1901 to April 1907, during the period of his revolutionary activity mainly in Tbilisi. In these years, the Bolsheviks, under the guidance of V. I. Lenin, laid the foundations of the Marxist-Leninist Party, its ideology, and organizational principles.
