Starting from the rocky years of exile, the book turns back to the ancestors of Yiannis Ritsos and to the family of his mother, Eleftheria Vouzounara. A dynamic personality of critical importance for shaping the poet's character and subsequent ideas, his mother, although she emerged from a conservative environment as if guided by Fate, infused him with her progressive ideas.

Her origin and the residence of her two siblings sent him to the place of her birth as a student of the Gymnasium of Gythio along with his sister Loula Glezou, at the same time as Nikiforos Vrettakos. The book presents his relatives, figures of the dead who are both composed and unchangeable.

From the documents and photographs (1867-1950), all unpublished from the author's collections, figures from the school years of Yiannis Ritsos emerge, as they have passed into his poetry, for example, in The Fourth Dimension - the monstrous masterpiece.

Figures such as "Aunt Olga," "Uncle Leonidas," or the music teacher Giocondo Moretti, and places like the islet of Kranaai, continually resurfaced in his memories until the Iconostasis of anonymous Saints. The themes are presented alongside the author's personal experience from the same space.
