    attention, excessive noise!
With the latest firmware SN04 and used as a NAS (not on your desk!) it is quite good.
Tested on proxmox and due to the services that check the disk status every few seconds, it is unbearable!!!
It is not suitable in any case for use inside your PC or, as I said before, for a proxmox server.

Yes, it can be heard, but I have the computer next to me, so when it's in use, it can be heard. Otherwise, it's fine

    It's good.
It weighs a lot but it's not noisy.
The issue is not to hit against the case.
Mine has dampers but they didn't work.
In the end, I tied it to a thick bath sponge and it's OK.
In terms of consumption, around 10W and it heats up more than the others, which is logical.
In terms of performance, as expected.
I got it in bulk packaging and Seagate doesn't provide a five-year warranty.

It is a very good disk. I have had it for about 7 months. In NTFS 7.27 TB. In 2 partitions, a total of 7.46 TB. It has been connected as an external drive to a mini PC with an I7 in an Icy-box case, and the temperature is around 45 to 49 degrees. It is connected via USB C 3.2, so it takes the full speed of the Sata 3 bus. It plays on the EMBY server, and the streaming is excellent. Cloud backup from the mobile phones and storage backup from 2 PCs is immediate. This is the 4th Seagate I have, and I can say that they are very good and reliable. Gradually, I have started to switch from WD, initially 2 internal 4TB and one 2.5 3TB, and now to this 8TB.
