Often, suddenly, unexpectedly, the sky becomes cloudy, not only in winter, it rains, snows, thunders, and usually the bad weather is not pleasant. However, water from both rain and snow is essential for the fields and crops, for the trees of the mountains, and for the springs, rivers, lakes, seas, and generally for the balance of nature.
Especially after the storm, when the sun comes out, the atmosphere becomes clearer. Thus, the sorrows of life come and go. We wish and hope they will pass. They have a purpose and meaning. They can be exploited and turn into opportunities for self-knowledge and spiritual maturity.
They can become stations for deeper study of ourselves first, and of our stance towards our fellow human beings. Through sorrows, troubles, bitterness, suffering, anguish, pain, and problems, we can discover unknown forces within us, the God-given talents, our limits and endurance.
Something that we consciously or unconsciously did not do during other times of comfort, prosperity, happiness, and bliss. Defeated, weak, humiliated, let us approach the ever-open door of the holy and miraculous, prayer. Let us open our aching hearts unreservedly.
The God of love exists to always listen to us. One thing is enough; the words must be humble, even if they are unrefined. If in our pain we cannot find adequate words, this book may help us.
