Description

Early variety, ideal for both dry and green onion production due to the very good foliage it creates. Very tolerant variety to bolting even under adverse weather conditions. The bulb is light brown (blonde) in color, almost round (preferred by amateurs) and when matured into a dry onion, it produces a slightly flattened, large bulb of the same color with a crunchy white interior, moderately spicy.

    I am not always sure I get from Green Center what I ordered - when I have had Stuttgart onions in the past, I get round bulbs. What Green Center sent me were oval shaped bulbs - not the Stuttgart type I am used to.

    But I did put them in the garden, and they are doing well, whatever variety they are. But I do not think they are truly Stuttgart variety, so I take off 2 stars. I have never in my life seen oval shaped Stuttgart onion sets - they are always round. So I am not sure if I actually received Stuttgart, and I doubt that I did. I think they sent me something else.
