The Ugears hanging pendulum clock is a 320-piece wooden construction kit that assembles into a working wall clock. Its mechanism is powered by gravity: a small bag filled with sand or salt acts as a weight and, as it descends, drives the gears and pendulum. The hours and minutes are displayed on rotating numbered discs, while a fixed pointer indicates the time.
The adjustable pendulum has two weights for fine-tuning its accuracy. A hanging hot-air balloon descends when the hour changes and slowly rises again over the course of the hour, complementing the theme of aeronautics and exploration.
