The Akai EWI 5000 offers more than 3GB of high-quality sounds, including traditional brass, woodwind, and string sounds, as well as progressive synthesizer sounds. It features 12 touch-sensitive metallic keys on the top and an octagonal seven-modifier roll on the bottom. It supports EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument) mode for brass players and includes eight sliders for adjusting parameters such as Filter, Reverb, Chorus, LFO, Breath Amount, Bite Amount, Semitone Tuning, and Fine Tuning. It is equipped with USB MIDI and 5-pin MIDI for controlling software synthesizers or traditional MIDI devices.
It includes a 1/4 inch output for connection to an amplifier or PA and an 1/8 inch headphone output for silent practice. The EWI 5000 charges via USB or wall adapter and includes a USB cable, wall adapter, wireless receiver, and neck strap.
