    It is 'precise' but it is not easy to move it where you want because the rubber line at the bottom that keeps it stable is also its weakness, because it is difficult to move in millimeters. It is the kind of thing that you drag half-up and let it drop hoping it won't miss because then when you go to move it a millimeter, it won't move and then you will apply more force and it will move more than the millimeter you want. I wouldn't say it's a better design than a simple ruler. Very poor control.
