This comparative study through quantitative research of students and their parents in schools across Greece, as well as the recording of the demographic data of their parents' ancestors, aimed to demonstrate not only social mobility but also the educational and professional choices of the students and their parents during a transitional period such as the 21st century.
Through the thorough analysis of the data, it emerges that the educational capital inherited by each of us largely signifies and outlines our path through a series of social barriers concerning education, profession, our cultural identity in general, and what we will be capable of passing on and offering to our children.
