Today, Union is possible as long as we desire it and present it to the Greek Government, which cannot refuse it.

Our effort is the seizure of power, the removal of Makarios so that the demand for Union, as a demand of the entire Cypriot people, will be submitted to the UN, calling upon it to honor the signatures of its members and (to the) Greek Government.

No one would dare, not even Turkey, to make an invasion in Cyprus because we are claiming a just demand internationally recognized. The Cypriot people did not approve the Zurich-London Agreements, nor are they responsible for them.

In the meantime, we will organize the defense of the island, and if Turkey wishes to make an invasion and even if Greece does not want to support us, Cyprus can with its own forces repel any possible Turkish invasion.

Furthermore, I doubt that Turkey would dare to do so, not only because it has been bluffing until now but also because its internal situation is such that it is questionable whether it is in a position to mobilize and confront a war both at the borders of mainland and island Greece.
