Oh wow! What a mess this is... The mothers from two dog families, poodles and bulldogs, discover completely by accident that they mixed up two of their puppies when they were babies... Gaston, who is actually a bulldog, grows up with the habits of a poodle... And Antoinette, who is a poodle, grows up with the habits of a bulldog! When the two families happen to go to the same park, they discover the mistake... They let the puppies choose their families freely... When they choose the "right" families, they discover something new... Maybe now they've made another mistake?
Gaston is a bulldog growing up in a poodle family... He learns good manners, barks and walks discreetly. Antoinette is a poodle growing up in a bulldog family. She barks loudly, runs clumsily, and doesn't have good manners.
This children's humorous book is an excellent example for children to understand how the unique characteristics of each family affect its members.
Appearance has absolutely no significance for who we are. However, the way we are raised and the habits and values we get from our family are the elements that make us who we become.
Being members of a family does not mean we all have to be the same. Each of us can have our own personality and at the same time be accepted members of a wider group.
Of course, as we grow up, we can learn the other side and adopt foreign habits and thoughts. Because if we really want to, we can change and become even better! But we always belong where our heart tells us, not necessarily where we fit best!
On the cover, the yellow armchair, with a small white bulldog relaxing and smiling at us, immediately attracts the attention of young readers. The hard cardboard makes the book durable and suitable for small hands to hold on their own.
"Gaston" is a sweet, humorous, educational children's book with beautiful colorful illustrations that immediately caught the interest of my boys. Through their very "human" story, the protagonists Gaston and Antoinette, our beloved puppies, give us important life lessons.
