With a carefully crafted edition of the Akathist Hymn with a translation into Modern Greek by the philologist Eleni Kalamara, the month of March is inaugurated by ATHOS Editions. A valuable aid especially for the period of Great Lent, which we approach.

The Akathist Hymn accompanies us throughout the year. During Lent, with the eponymous service every Friday, as well as in our daily prayers with its recitation along with the Small Supplication.

The Service of the Akathist Hymn, known as the Salutations, is deeply connected with our earliest memories from childhood. Sometimes in a solemn service at our parish, where our mother first gave us to read alone from the booklet the beautiful troparia of the Salutations. But also in front of the iconostasis during family prayer, when our parents first asked us to read a stanza from the Akathist Hymn.
