Garbage, search on Google using the words "ifi zen air dac sound glitch". Many users, like in my case, have problems with the dac disconnecting and various additional issues with the sound itself (pops, freezes, etc.). It seems that the problem is with the firmware and it is not isolated to this specific model of the company (other models like the v2 have it too). Even if this problem didn't exist, I would give it 3 stars because there is not much difference from the sound produced by the motherboard of the computer. Let's not forget, it costs 100 euros... In my opinion, look at another company.
Σκουπίδι, ψάξτε στο google χρησιμοποιώντας τις λέξεις "ifi zen air dac sound glitch". Πολλοί χρήστες, όπως και στην δική μου περίπτωση, έχουν πρόβλημα με το dac να αποσυνδέεται και διάφορα επιπρόσθετα προβλήματα με τον ίδιο τον ήχο (pops, παγώματα κτλ). Φαίνεται ότι το πρόβλημα είναι με το firmware και μάλιστα δεν είναι απομωνομένο στο συγκεκριμένο μόντελο αυτής της εταιρίας (το έχουν κι άλλα μοντέλα όπως το v2).
Ακόμα κι αν δεν υπήρχε αυτό το πρόβλημα στην μέση θα του έδινα 3 αστέρια γιατί δεν υπάρχει μεγάλη διαφορά από τον ήχο που δίνει η μητρική του υπολογιστή. Μην ξεχνάμε, κάνει 100 ευρώ... Γνώμη μου, κοιτάξτε σε άλλη εταιρία.Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful? -

If you want it for cheap active monitor (Presonus Eris 3.5) and PC, DO NOT buy it. Small noticeable difference in sound but not for 120 euros. The Asus Xonar D2 I had was pounding. I also tried 2 Equalizers (Apo - fx-sound) and the quality resolution dropped dramatically. I stuck with wmp which does something. Of course, I downloaded drivers and updated firmware. I played with resolutions and buffer sizes but I still haven't achieved a nice sound result. Generally, there is something like a Limiter and it doesn't let the frequencies "breathe." Another success for marketers and reviews on the internet.

Εαν το θες για φθηνα active monitor ( Presonus Eris 3.5) και PC, ΜΗΝ το παρεις. Mικρη αισθητη διαφορα στον ηχο αλλα οχι για 120 ευρω. Η Asus Xonar D2 που ειχα σφυροκοπαγε. Επισης δοκιμασα 2 Equalizer (Apo - fx-sound) και επεφτε δραματικά η αναλυση ποιοτητας. Εμεινα με το wmp που κατι κανει. Εννοειται κατεβασα drivers εκανα Update firmware . Επαιξα με resolutions και buffer sizes αλλα δεν εχω πετυχει ακομα ωραιο ηχητικο αποτελεσμα. Γενικα υπαρχει κατι σαν Limiter και δεν αφηνει να "αναπνευσουν" οι συχνοτητες. Aλλη μια επιτυχια για τους Μαρκετιστες και τα reviews στο ιντερνετ.

The PowerMatch and XBass+ functions were useful.
I tried it both without a power cable and with a power cable (it doesn't come with a cable because it gets power directly from USB, but it also has a power cable option to get power from a socket).
The first one worked for a few weeks and then burned out.
I returned it.
They brought me a new one.
And today, after less than a week, this one broke too.
I didn't do anything weird and I took care of it; it's not like it was hit or anything like that.
THERE IS A POSSIBILITY, OF COURSE, that it has to do with the electricity in Kozani where I live because we have issues with grounding and surges due to the factories, but after the first one broke, I decided to power the second one with a cable from a surge protector, and it broke again, so I don't know.
The headphones I used with this were the Sundara 2020.
They don't have high resistance, so I don't think anything happened with the voltage.
As seen in the picture, all the lights are still on, but it simply doesn't output any signal at all.

ΥΠΑΡΧΕΙ ΜΙΑ ΠΙΘΑΝΟΤΗΤΑ ΒΕΒΑΙΑ να έχει να κάνει με το ρεύμα στην Κοζάνη όπου μένω γιατί έχουμε θέματα και με γειώσεις και με εξάρσεις λόγω των εργοστασίων όμως αφότου χάλασε το πρώτο, το δεύτερο αποφάσισα να το τροφοδοτώ με καλώδιο από πολύπριζο ασφαλείας και πάλι χάλασε, άρα δεν ξέρω
Τα ακουστικά που χρησιμοποίησα με αυτό ήταν τα Sundara 2020
Δεν έχουν μεγάλη αντίσταση οπότε δεν νομίζω να έγινε κάτι με την ένταση του ρεύματος
Όπως φαίνεται και στην εικόνα, ακόμα ανάβουν όλα τα λαμπάκια όμως απλά δεν βγάζει σήμα καθόλου

Very good DAC, I use it with the Hifiman he400se and I can say that it outperforms other headphones compared to the on-board sound card (using the power match option). Although it is made of plastic, it is sturdy and the volume knob has a very nice feel. It is used on Windows 11.
Πολύ καλό dac, το χρησιμοποιοώ με τα Hifiman he400se και μπορώ να πω πως τα κάνει άλλα ακουστικά σε σχέση με την on-board κάρτα ήχου (με τη χρήση της επιλογής power match). Αν και πλαστικό είναι στιβαρό και το volume knob έχει πολύ ωραία άισθηση. Χρησιμοποιείται σε Windows 11.

The Dac is excellent, the difference from the computer/mobile DAC is more than noticeable.
This model is a Dac and Headphone Amp combo. It connects to the computer via a USB B cable and does not require external power. The headphone port in the front is 6.3mm, while the classic RCA output is available in the back. The headphone output and the RCA output both work continuously, without the option to deactivate either.
There is also a light that changes color depending on the quality of the music it receives. It is not particularly useful, but it exists.
It is used together with a pair of Hifiman Sundara. The Zen Air Dac does not alter the sound signature of the Sundara at all, and the volume levels are more than satisfactory. The "Power Match" button is what provides the "power" required for high impedance headphones or Planar in this case. The other button that this Dac/amp has is the "X-Bass". Surprisingly, the X-Bass is a very nice addition. It enhances the low frequencies without eliminating the rest, and especially in combination with open-back headphones, it greatly helps in "recovering" the bass that they lose by design.
For 100 euros, it is a very good choice for someone who wants to enter the world of hi-res audio for a small amount of money. If another amplifier is purchased in the future, the iFi Zen Air Dac can be used as a DAC that sends a signal to another amplifier.

Excellent device, the sound really has a noticeable difference compared to the built-in sound card on the Mac Mini M1.
It connects directly with a USB cable, without the need for external power supply, and was recognized directly by the computer without installing drivers.
