The Revell London Bus model kit depicts the Routemaster bus, which became an iconic symbol of London thanks to its presence on many routes and its red color. The RML, an extended version of the Routemaster, had room for a total of 72 passengers and featured an open boarding platform at the rear left for quick boarding and alighting.

The Routemaster was introduced in 1954, and mass production began in 1958. RML production took place from 1965 to 1968, while Routemaster buses were generally retired from service in 2005, after almost 50 years.
