Worn on Town Mate, I work as a delivery driver and as you can understand, tested in all road conditions both in and out of the city. Due to their geometry, I am very satisfied on dry roads, fuel economy, easy rolling. They grip well on dry roads, and in wet conditions, they perform very well in terms of grip, but imagine on a town vehicle that has drum brakes and not disc brakes; even with these brakes, during sudden braking, they slip, especially if the road is initially wet with all the city pollutants.
Overall, I like them, I recommend them, but you need to maintain a greater distance from the vehicle in front on wet roads, because you might become "friends" with the one ahead. You need to have experience to control them on wet roads. Since in Greece we mostly have good weather, I prefer them. In the rain, reduce speed, obviously, and consider an additional 2 meters for braking to your surprise.
If you are concerned about braking on wet roads and immediate response, I would recommend a tire with more tread.
But then you lose a bit elsewhere, in terms of economy, rolling, and grip in corners and on dry roads.
There is no perfect tire for all conditions, obviously.
Φορεμένα σε Town Mate, δουλεύω διανομέας και όπως καταλαβαίνετε δοκιμασμένα σε όλες τις συνθήκες οδοστρώματος μέσα και έξω απο την πόλη. Λόγω της γεωμετρίας τους είμαι πολύ ευχαριστημένος στο στεγνό οδόστρωμα, οικονομία καυσίμου, εύκολη κύλιση. Βεντουζάρει στο στεγνό οδόστρωμα, στο βρεγμένο τα πάει πολύ καλά στο κράτημα, αλλά φανταστείτε στο ταούνι που έχει ταμπούρα και όχι δισκόφρενα, ακόμη και με αυτά τα φρένα στο απότομο φρενάρισμα γλιστράνε, ιδιαίτερα άν το οδόστρωμα είναι στην αρχή βρεγμένο με όλους τους ρύπους της πόλης.
Σε γενικές γραμμές μου αρέσουνε, τα συνιστώ, αλλά πρέπει να υπολογίζετε μεγαλύτερη απόσταση απο το προπορευόμενο όχημα σε βρεγμένο οδόστρωμα, γιατί μπορεί να γίνετε "φιλαράκια" με τον μπροστινό. I come from the incredible gazelle tires that I constantly used since the 90s, whenever I was looking for a tire equivalent to them. So, I tried the city tires which, for me, were their biggest failure. I took them off within a week and found another stock of gazelle tires which, by June, were quite worn out. So, I tried the city tires again, specifically the city Extra. I can confidently say that in dry conditions, it is as good as the gazelle tires and you can trust it. I haven't tried it in wet conditions yet, though. Anyway, kudos to Michelin for learning from its mistakes
Έρχομαι απο τα απίστευτα gazelle τα οποία τα έβαζα συνέχεια απο την δεκαετία του 90 , όποτε έψαχνα ενα ελαστικό ισάξιο του , έβαλα λοιπόν το city το οποίο για εμένα ήταν η μεγάλιτερη αποτυχία τους ,τα έβγαλα σε μια εβδομάδα και βρήκα ενα ακόμη στοκ απο gazelle τα οποία τώρα τον Ιούνιο ήταν αρκετά φαγωμενα όποτε δοκίμασα πάλι τα city και συγκεκριμένα το city Extra, μπορώ να πο με συγουρια οτιι σε στεγνό είναι οπος το gazelle μπορείς να του έχεις εμπιστοσύνη ,σε βρεγμένο δεν το εχω δοκιμάσει ακόμα , παντός μπράβο στην Michelin μαθαινη απο τα λάθη της
