Volumes II and IV of the series THEORY AND PRACTICE OF ECCLESIASTICAL MUSIC by Georgios N. Konstantinou, which correspond to the Anastasimarion of Ioannis Protopsaltis and the Anastasimarion of 1820 (Ephesian edition), largely cover the needs of both second-year students of the Analytical Program of music conservatories and Byzantine music schools, as well as those serving at sacred chanters.
The musical texts have been printed in two colors and were recorded based on what Chrysanthos mentions in his theoretical writings and the Patriarchal Musical Committee of 1881-83 in its work, as well as what arises from the manuscripts of the Explanators and the first printed books, and what practice established, referring to the highlighting of the structural function of the sounds (rhythmic markings, pulls, use of the acute accent, isokratima).
A compact disc (CD) is also included, which contains both printed Anastasimarions in digital form, supplemented with all those signs that highlight, indicate, and encompass various aspects of the oral tradition, utilizing the concise musical text in diverse ways and potentially giving it the value it has always had in its musical journey: Not that of an end in itself, but that of a means, a path (guidance), and a reminder.
