Description

Description

The Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 RAM is aimed at demanding computer users, such as gamers, professionals in video and image editing, designers, and those who require high performance from their computer.

DDR5

DDR5 is the fifth generation of RAM technology for computers. It replaces DDR4 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 3200MT/s to 12600MT/s, response time (CAS Latency) from CL 28 to CL 48, while its capacity has increased up to 64GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for response time (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above characteristics should be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

The Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 provides speed at 5600MT/s, with CL40 and 8GB per memory module.

Compatibility

DDR5 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR5 is compatible with Alder Lake, Raptor Lake, and the latest Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR5 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory without the need for manual adjustments. (XMP/EXPO) is easily activated from the BIOS, is available on certain RAM memories, and is supported by certain motherboards.

The Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 has (XMP 3.0/EXPO) profiles with performances:

  • Speed (XMP 3.0/EXPO): 5600 MT/s
  • CAS Latency (XMP 3.0/EXPO): 40-40-40
  • Voltage (XMP 3.0/EXPO): 1.25V

Cooling & Design

The aluminum construction material combined with the memory height of 34.9mm, which is an ideal size to accommodate large CPU coolers, helps to keep the memory and the entire computer at a fairly low temperature even during the most demanding operations.

The memories are excellent, I've had them for a year, but what I want to comment on is their price. I bought them in December 2004 for 100 euros! And now I see they've reached 440! No, come on!

Great ram kit it has great speeds at a great price, but If you can spend a little more money I wouldn't suggest you buy this kit due to the bad CLS. Overall it is a great kit if you are on a budget

It's a great RAM memory. My motherboard, of course, being AMD, had some stability issues with its socket when I overclocked, and that's because the RAM is compatible with XMP and not EXPO, so I had to disable DOCP (the XMP on AMD motherboards) and that stopped the issues. Other than that, it's a great RAM memory and quite a bit cheaper than the other DDR5 options.

The most value-for-money DDR5 memory at the moment. The specific chipset it uses is the SK Hynix M and is considered the most stable for overclocking. It easily reaches 6400 MHz at 1.35v and practically saves you money compared to memories that cost 40-100€ more expensive.

For DDR5 memories, it is good to choose 2x16 to have all the advantages. The 5200 ones are like the 4800 ones, so they are not worth the extra money. On the contrary, the 5600 memories, especially the specific 5600 ones from Kingston, are from bins with better memories, SK Hynix, meaning the best for overclocking! Experienced overclockers can push them up to 6400 transfer rate without instability. The corresponding high-end DDR4 memories are about 50 euros cheaper and have RGB for those interested. But for DDR5 overclocking without significantly exceeding the cost, the Fury Beast 2x16 at 5600 is one of the best choices!

The 3 stars are a temporary comment and I will come back, as the DDR5 issue is very fresh. Also, the 5600 doesn't work on i9 12900K and Gigabyte z690 Gaming X motherboard, even though in the market research they mentioned that they support them and the motherboard has even made a bios update to solve any compatibility issues that have arisen so far. With a little tweaking, it reaches 5200 and that's it. My processor supports up to 4800 on DDR5. I want to believe that the problem will be solved in the future as you buy a Ferrari and have performance losses.
