The sundew is an herb that grows in shrublands of the northern hemisphere. The entire plant is used for the soothing syrup, which affects the throat, lungs, and respiratory tracts, with beneficial results in bronchitis, whooping cough, and persistent cough.
The effectiveness of sundew against streptococcus, staphylococcus, and pneumococcus is due to the presence of plumbagin. Its relaxing effect on involuntary muscles helps relieve asthma.
Ivy is successfully used in the treatment of catarrhal conditions of the sinus area. Ivy also helps in dealing with cough and bronchitis by facilitating the liquefaction of secretions.
Wild fir is used in cases of bronchitis, sinusitis, catarrh, hoarseness, throat irritation, and cough. Wild fir contains resin, essential oil, terpenes, and tannin, which act beneficially, soothing the irritated upper respiratory system naturally.
