Molier's plot for the work "The Flying Doctor" is drawn from the canvas of a commedia dell'arte.
The type of doctor is a traditional figure of the comic stage, but here the twist is the double role played by Gnanarellos. The pseudodoctor "jumps" from one point to another, constantly changing costumes and pretending to be two different characters.
The fast pace and the gradually mounting suspense to reveal the deception, combined with the acrobatic tricks required for the successive disguises, energize the briefly sketched scenes, always leaving ample room for improvisations.
