Description

ANTIRUST is an alkyd anti-rust primer suitable for new or previously painted iron surfaces, worn galvanized and other metal surfaces, indoor or outdoor.

Features:

  • Specially processed anti-rust ingredients protect the metal from corrosion and rust.
  • Excellent adhesion to iron and other painted surfaces, suitable for use as an intermediate protective coating.
  • Creates a smooth surface for high-quality finishes.

Preparation

A basic requirement for achieving good results is thorough preparation. After removing all old paints, loose materials, and oils, we sand and remove the dust with a cloth.

Painted metal surfaces:
We sand and clean the surface from dust. We prime with the ANTIRUST primer, 1-2 coats.


New metal surfaces:
We degrease the surface using Brush Thinner 135. We prime with the ANTIRUST primer, 1-2 coats.

Usage

  • Stir well before use and during application.
  • Before applying the final varnish, the surface is smoothed with appropriate sandpaper and dust is removed.
  • Apply in two coats with a roller or brush, thinning 5-15% with WHITE SPIRIT or with an airless spray gun, thinning 10-20% with Gun Thinner THINNER 135.
  • After the first coat has fully hardened, the second coat can be applied.

Drying - Coverage

  • The ambient temperature and the thickness of the coating determine the drying time required.
  • Surface drying: 1-2 hours.
  • Repainting time: 4-6 hours.
  • Coverage: 8-12m²/lt, depending on the thickness of each layer and the absorbency of the surface.
