    Sparta, quite a lot of salts in the tap water. I used it in a two-stage countertop system as the first stage. It worked for 2 months...then, salts appeared again. So, what it says about 3-6 months does not apply, at least in an area with hard water.

    On an island with water from boreholes that tastes brackish, it somewhat improves the taste but still the water is not pleasantly drinkable. Certainly, together with a carbon filter it makes some difference but it does not come close to bottled water. I will try a more expensive resin filter at some point.
