Review this product
  • Paper quality
  • Was it interesting enough?
  • I would choose a book by the same author
  • I would recommend it for purchase
  • Four little fish, four beloved friends, play carefree at the bottom of the sea... Plato, the largest fish, loves his friends, but feels inferior around them... He wants so much to be like one of them... When they arrive at the amusement park, everyone takes part in a competition... Everyone except Plato, who believes he has nothing to show... Until a frightening event changes everything...
Another beautiful educational book by Yolanda Tsoroni-Georgiadis from the great series of books that promote children's emotional intelligence.
In our children's library, we also have two more, "So what?" and "The gang on the island," and they are all favorites of my boys...
"The big winner" is yet another children's book that promotes acceptance and love for our unique selves!
Its story reminded me of another children's book, "Lucas, the fox who wanted everything"... Lucas, like Plato, is not happy with himself... They want to become someone else, because they believe that this way they will be more loved... But an unexpected event brings out their unique and special powers and makes them superheroes... Thus, they finally understand that every person is unique, just as they are, and should not try to be like anyone else!
Inspired by this book, I talked with my children about the world of the sea bottom. How much it resembles or differs from the world of humans... We also learned the names of some fish and their special characteristics.
Three important things stayed with us from this particular book:
    - Every person is special and important with their own virtues and unique characteristics.
    - Many times we form a wrong impression of ourselves, we unfairly diminish ourselves and do not truly love ourselves....
    - The value of friendship is great. Plato, faced with danger, could have simply camouflaged himself and saved himself. But he chose to stay and save his friends too.
It is no coincidence that we see Plato in a bright yellow color, an element that makes him stand out from the other sketches.
The big winner is the one who truly loves himself and has true friends by his side...
