    The card has an ASM1062 chip that provides 2 SATA ports and then uses JMB575 "multipliers" to make them 10! It's like a power strip, but for SATA drives.
    This means that 5 drives share the bandwidth of one port. So... forget about speed.
    If you want it for anything Linux, keep in mind that it hates Port Multipliers. They are the number 1 cause for "Disk Dropped" (drives that appear to suddenly disconnect), causing fake errors and rebuilds that will drive you crazy.
