It was purchased for my wife who wanted to watch old DVDs on the computer. It does not recognize several DVDs that even play on PlayStation 3. It ended up in the closet. I did not bother to try drivers or any other operating system that might make it work. It is not plug and play, so I will not rack my brain to see what I need to do to maybe make it work.

I bought it with the intention of transferring some old DVDs to my computer. Although the computer recognized it as a device, the device did not read any DVDs. I tried it on 2 other computers but nothing. Wasted money. It's better to spend a bit more to get something better. I threw mine in the recycling.

Useless product.
At first it reads and then suddenly it completely freezes, the door opens by itself. It creaks and makes noise. Where the light blinks, it suddenly turns off and becomes completely dead. The first time it reads, the second time you try it, it gets stuck and doesn't read at all.
Wasted money, what a shame. It had one job to do and it doesn't do it. Stay away from this product.

Very disappointed. The drive simply doesn’t read discs. I bought it specifically to read a medical DVD from my doctor, but it kept spinning and never recognized the disc. Threw it away the next day and bought another external DVD drive, which works perfectly. Would not recommend.

Good for the one or two times I used it, lightweight construction, it recognized it immediately, maybe because it's Linux, I don't know

I got it to transfer some CDs to my computer. Plug and play immediately, it worked perfectly and without any issues. I didn't try DVDs.

Value For Money product. Some DVDs did not play, but in general I did not face any problem. No need for installation, you just plug the USB into the PC (I use Windows). If your requirements are very low, I think it is a good purchase.

on windows 10 it is not plug n play, at least for me, I tried to find drivers online but I couldn't, fortunately I also have a laptop with windows 11 and on that it worked immediately

Very cheap and easy to use. I burn CDs of music I produce so that I can listen on my BMW Mini Car system

I had to connect it to the usb-c port for it to work. It didn't recognize it in a regular usb port. It does its job just fine.

It's worth the money, it does exactly what it should, without much noise. A very good choice for such an affordable price

I give it five stars because it does what I want for a few euros. I transferred drivers to a new laptop from old devices that I couldn't find on the internet, and they work nonetheless on Windows 11. From now on, I'll burn a CD for the car once in a while. I didn't notice any issues with the build quality like others did, at least nothing worth mentioning, so everything is fine for a technology that is dying and we use once in a while. Perfect

Very good for the money. Normal use in Read / Write. Cheap construction and thin plastic on the top. It has a built-in USB cable on the bottom.

It works. How much? It will show. The plastics in the center give way with simple pressure and creak. The finish on the left and right, top and bottom pieces have clashed. They move a little to the left and a little to the right. We said it works. And as long as it lasts

Very convenient and small and does its job. The only negative is that the cable is very short but I don't think it's a problem. Very good price!

I got it to burn a CD for the old car player. It is completely plug & play on the PC and laptop without any problems. I hope it has good durability over time.

ACER Drive is the driver that comes with mine. I tried to connect it to an Android tablet and it didn't work, unfortunately Android doesn't seem to support external CD-ROMs, it's a shame, if it did work, someone could easily turn a tablet/smart TV into a DVD player Q(

Anyway, it does its job perfectly fine on a PC as long as it receives enough power from the USB port. Someone might need to get a USB C to USB A adapter to connect the drive to 2 USB ports for better power stability :|

The cable is short though, it's not an issue on a laptop but on a tower PC there might be a problem if the ports are far from the top of the PC.

Also, it's good to disconnect it when not in use
