Description

Rosie Graham has a problem. A few, actually. She just quit her well paid job to focus on her secret career as a romance writer. She hasn't told her family and now has terrible writer's block. Then, the ceiling of her New York apartment literally crumbles on her. Luckily she has her best friend Lina's spare key while she's out of town. But Rosie doesn't know that Lina has already lent her apartment to her cousin Lucas, who Rosie has been stalking-for lack of a better word-on Instagram for the last few months. Lucas seems intent on coming to her rescue like a Spanish knight in shining armour. Only this one strolls around the place in a towel, has a distracting grin, and an irresistible accent. Oh, and he cooks.

Lucas offers to let Rosie stay with him, at least until she can find some affordable temporary housing. And then he proposes an outrageous experiment to bring back her literary muse and meet her deadline: He'll take her on a series of experimental dates meant to jump-start her romantic inspiration. Rosie has nothing to lose. Her silly, online crush is totally under control-but Lucas's time in New York has an expiration date, and six weeks may not be enough, for either her or her deadline.

Review this product
  • Paper quality
  • Was it easy to read?
  • Was it interesting enough?
  • I liked the writing style
  • I would read a book by the same author
  • I would recommend it for reading
  • ▪️Spice level: 2.5/5
⚠️Trigger warnings: none serious, but some scenes have mild emotional manipulation
▫️A few words about the book: The story is about Rosie, a romantic writer with writer's block. She moves into her cousin Catalina's apartment (from The Spanish Love Deception) and ends up having to live with Lucas, a handsome Spaniard who will change her daily life for the better! Through everyday moments, they grow closer and their cohabitation becomes even more interesting!
▪️Style/Writing: If you’ve read "The Spanish Love Deception," here too you’ll find a story with doses of humor, romance, and easy reading! Some moments might remind you of other books, but honestly, I think no romcom is that unique anymore! The level of English is easy, and I don’t think you’ll have trouble if you’ve read books of a similar category.
▫️Why I liked it: I think it was a very cute story, with sweet moments that make it ideal if you want to read something relaxing.
▪️Why you should read it: Definitely, if you loved "The Spanish Love Deception," you should read this continuation in a way! It’s cozy, romantic, maybe a bit predictable... but it belongs to the feel-good books category so it’s perfect for having a good time and relaxing!

  • This is the 2nd book by the author, which is also a continuation of her previous one. I confess that I loved it and identified quite a bit as it became more personal for me since it reminded me of my relationship with Giannis and how we started! However, it is indeed a much better-written book, which surprised me as the previous one didn't win me over as much as this one! Lukas and Rosie stayed in my heart, and I truly enjoyed them as I hadn't read about a healthy relationship without toxicity and silly protagonists in a while! What would you say if your sexy Spanish cousin of your best friend suddenly stayed with you until your apartment was repaired? And if this truly wonderful and sweet cousin cooked fantastic meals for you and organized dates to help you finish your book and get out of a writer's block? Also, Lukas Martin rightfully enters the best book boyfriends for 2023! It has many nice tropes like friends to lovers, one bed, roommates, and others that I won't reveal to avoid spoiling their story. I was also glad to read about Lina and Aaron in this book!
