  • I bought this particular pair of boots for around €100 in September 2025 due to my previous good experience with the S.W.A.T. model from this company, which was truly value for money in every aspect (fit, comfort, grip, durability).

    Now, to the point.

The positive is that the boots fit well and you feel like you’re wearing a sports shoe. They don’t tire you and don’t bother you at all.

    On the negative side:
    1. For use on a ship, they are prohibitive because they slip dangerously with any trace of moisture, and I’m not even talking about oil, just simple sea moisture on a quartz-covered deck!!!
    2. Although they claim to be waterproof with a waterproof membrane, and while you certainly don’t expect Gore Tex-level performance, these let in even the slightest drop (no, I have NEVER dried them next to a heat source)!
    3. After 4 months of use in office work with an average of 1km walking per day, one sole detached from the heel to the metatarsal!!! Maybe the very soft sole material is to blame, but it’s not justified. My only mistake is that I didn’t take photos before taking them to the cobbler for repair to upload them, although I believe the repair points are visible in the photos.
    4. Even with minimal walking, the soles wear out a lot.

I regret not spending a bit more to buy something tried and tested.

I have nothing against Pentagon and generally consider it a reputable company, but this particular product needs improvement.

I am sure that at this price (€100) there are better products one could choose.

I have these boots since the beginning of last summer. Around 7-8 months.
This specific shoe is fine at first because it is still fresh.
It holds the ankle well because it has saved my foot a couple of times while on duty, when I didn't see a step and my foot turned, but luckily it saved me.
The sole is gradually wearing out. In other words, if you step on a small stone, you can feel it on your foot. I would like the sole to be harder. It has an anti-slip sole, but after the sole wears out, it slips on wet surfaces. I wouldn't call them warm. In winter, if you wear thick socks, they will do their job. If I would buy these boots again, maybe yes, maybe no.

Within a month, a hard plastic started hitting my little finger, and on both shoes. I couldn't wear them anymore, so I bought new ones
