Compared to the 3600 I had before... +30% more frames and much better 1% lows in CPU bound games with the RX 9070.

At 130 euros purchased in March 2026, it seemed to me one of the best choices. For the Am4 platform, since for Am5 the ddr5 ram is extremely expensive, I think I found the most efficient option I could for a mid-range building budget. The processor in the cinebench test seems to compete worthily with the 5800, and as for gaming in CRYENGINE V (War of Rights), it has left me very satisfied.

I was quite lucky and found it for 128 euros in tray. I was a bit anxious until it arrived, but everything was fine; the packaging was impeccable and the processor was in perfect condition.

Now, about the processor: on AM4 I don't think I could have made a better choice, especially at this price. The processor is a beast. In gaming, even in AAA games, it may not even reach 30% usage. As for temperatures, together with an Arctic Freezer 36, it's perfect. It's a multitasking monster.

Attention if someone has an old motherboard like mine: it needs a BIOS update for the processor to work, which is very easy to do. Everything runs much faster; the PC boots much quicker and I'm satisfied in every aspect. I tried to stress it with many tests and it came out a winner in all of them.

Upgrade from 2600X, incredible difference. The best balance of performance and consumption. At 65W, the Arctic Freezer 36 is enough for very low temperatures.

I got it as an upgrade from a Ryzen 5 3600 with a 3070ti card to keep the AM4 chipset. Although it's still early, I noticed quite a difference in games (some stuttering is gone + a few more fps) but overall the PC became much more responsive.

Coming from the 2700, the difference is huge with the 5700X combined with the RTX 2080S. Almost 50 to 70 more FPS with better frame time and I don't have the frame drops I used to have with the 2700.

I cool it with the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 and the temperature doesn't go above 60 with a quiet custom fan profile.

It's the best alternative upgrade on the AM4 platform since the 5700X3D and 5800X3D are no longer available.

Purchase at 160 euros is the most value for money option apart from used. I wanted the 5700X3D but unfortunately I didn't manage to get it. Upgrading from 5 5500 to 7 5700x is like night and day. I highly recommend it.

Very good processor. Now with DDR5 ram prices skyrocketing, I decided to give my second computer a chance by upgrading from a Ryzen 5 3600. This upgrade was made because the old Ryzen 5 3600 caused a terrible "bottleneck" for the RX 6800XT. It is a quite power efficient processor, with a TDP of 64 watts.
I believe with a little overclocking it can easily reach the performance of the 5800x (the difference is 200mhz). With a +200mhz and negative curve -25.

At a price up to 120 it is value for money, for more it is not.
For gaming use-cases, compared to a 9600X it loses about 20% due to bottleneck with graphics cards

I had a 5600G and you just take out the old one, apply thermal paste, screw in your cooler and you're ready. The difference in games, especially in multiplayer like BF6 and PUBG, is noticeable as the 8 cores really shine there. In single player games I didn't notice any crazy difference. Temperatures with the old cooler are 50 degrees without Boost and 80+ with boost at 4.7 GHz. And we're talking about the basic AMD cooler.

Diamond processor the Ryzen 7 5700X, even for now (December 2025), especially for upgrading an existing AM4 system. You save money on motherboard and memory, which have skyrocketed, losing very little in performance compared to the money you save.

Good entry level CPU, I use it for gaming, video recording and editing, in CapCut it works relatively fast at 1080p resolution, at 4K it is a bit slower, at least noticeably compared to lower resolution but still it's good.

With RAM and motherboard prices being high for the newer processor generations, I would say this one is good, but if you spend a bit more you will get something more reliable and long-lasting like the 5950x, that's why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

Although AM5 has come out, it is still a new processor and quite competitive for today's standards. To keep it simple, it's a beast especially for 120 euros. Whoever has it or plans to get it will definitely be more than covered for the next 6-7 years.
As for games on ultra, I play kcd2 which is a very demanding game with a huge open world, incredible landscapes, mountains, castles, weather conditions, and it never went above 58 degrees with the "be quiet pure rock 2"

    Please, DO NOT buy trays!
My first tray arrived wrapped around a broken piece of plastic with a rubber band tightly tied, with all the pins at the bottom bent. I requested a replacement.
The second store sent it to me wrapped in a sponge (!) with two pins bent.

I requested a refund and got the box. Don't bother with trays in the Greek market, they're all amateurs.

One of the best choices nowadays for the aging but reliable AM4 slot. Replaced a 3200g on a B450-F Gaming motherboard and the difference I saw in general use and gaming is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I knew I would see an improvement but I never expected what I experienced. EXCELLENT processor. Fast, stable, cool, and now extremely economical. An 8-core that is worth every penny at its current price (125 euros). I also put a beautiful Arctic Freezer 36 Black on it and I haven't seen temperatures above 68 degrees Celsius. I recommend it unreservedly

The processor is flawless and the best in terms of value for money, at the tray price (I bought it for about €115). It is still very reliable and capable and easily runs many games at very good fps (e.g. Fortnite 400+ fps, Rocket League 450+, Lol 700) or works in video editing, photoshop, etc. Personally, I upgraded from a Ryzen 7 2700X which I had for 4.5 years and the difference is at least noticeable. The only thing that I think is not right is that at least for me, the packaging it came in did not protect the pins very well, but there was no issue with any pin or the processor itself. I highly recommend it if you are thinking of upgrading or have a budget up to €800, otherwise look for something on AM5, because support for AMD's AM4 Socket has ended.

very awesome processor for its money (115€) I have it with a 240mm water cooler and tweaked settings for those who know as follows: cpuvoltage offset: -0.05 PBO PPT:110 TDC:70 EDC:90 Boostclock: +150 and CurveOptimizer per core -23 for 2 cores and the rest -30, it runs 4.8GHz stable in all games, I have seen maximum temperatures in games up to 69C and in stress up to 74C. Now for beginners, I suggest you do a CurveOptimizer -20 allcore (search the internet to see how it's done with your motherboard) which will drop the temperatures by about -10 degrees and at the same time improve your processor's speed. I have also uploaded my own benchmarks for anyone who wants to compare.

For those with 1st and 2nd generation Ryzen, purchasing it is mandatory since with a small amount of money (around €120 at the moment) they can acquire a very powerful processor, see a huge difference in performance, and keep the AM4 platform alive for quite some time. Upgrading the BIOS and having a cooler, which is not included, is necessary. The cooler from the previous processor is sufficient since it has a max consumption of 80 watts and relatively low temperatures. In my case, with a 120mm AIO, it does not exceed 65 degrees in stress tests. It runs at 4650MHz and with a little tweaking, it easily goes up to 4850 even with undervolt. For those with 3rd generation Ryzen like me (Ryzen 5 3600), the difference in performance is not as great but existent. In any case, it is 100% worth it. Finally, know that it comes in very simple packaging wrapped in bubble wrap, and I don't think you'll have a problem.

The processor has given me the exact performance that I was aiming for. I am playing Counter Strike and I made the upgrade from 2700x. The difference was really huge.

    Awesome CPU.
It doesn't go above 55 degrees in temperature.
Attention... The motherboard needs a BIOS update to read the 5000 series in case it's old.
    Still, a very good purchase.

I have been using it for a few days now, upgrading a computer from Ryzen 5 2600 to Ryzen 7 5700X, as you can understand the difference was at least noticeable especially in games that are CPU based, a very good processor for those who still have AM4 systems and do not intend to upgrade in the near future.

Excellent processor! I mainly use it for gaming along with a Gigabyte RTX 3060, and I play RDR2 at 1440p even on ultra with high settings, it never raised the temperature above 55° degrees. Even after many hours of use. I believe it can support up to 4070 series graphics cards. In idle, it doesn't exceed 30°. I use a be quiet pure rock fx air cooler

  • At 130 euros purchased in March 2026, it seemed to me one of the best choices.

  • I was quite lucky and found it for 128 euros in tray.
