He is an actor with iconic roles alongside prominent actors and directors, she is an award-winning costume designer and producer. Richard and Anthea, a successful Hollywood couple, decide to live the 'third act' of their lives by fulfilling their sidelined dreams.
They sell their house in Los Angeles and, together with their dog Guido and 22 boxes, embark on a journey to find paradise. Their first stop is Skiathos, where these two Hollywood types face the labyrinth of Greek bureaucracy, the peculiar sense of time in Greece, and... the neighbor's goat that is munching on their rose bushes. In contrast, they experience the innocence and generosity of the island's residents.
The theatrical and immediate narration by Richard Romanus, filled with humor and sensitivity, creates a charming journey but also an inner wandering, as he and Anthea rediscover pieces of themselves that they had lost in the frantic rhythms of Hollywood. At the same time, their fresh perspective on Greece and the Greeks offers us an opportunity to reassess the value of our efforts in these challenging times.
