Organic Basil, scientific name Ocimum basilicum, is an annual ornamental herb of the Lamiaceae family, with a height exceeding 70cm. It is a plant known since antiquity, with references to its use by Chinese healers and in Ayurvedic medicine in India. The essential oil of Organic Basil is obtained from steam distillation of its leaves.

Fresh, sweet, and slightly spicy, the essential oil has a light yellow color and contains significant aromatic compounds such as estragole and linalool. Scientific studies have shown that Organic Basil essential oil has strong antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. It is ideal for addressing colds and mental fatigue.

The essential oil of Basil is also used in massage oils for muscular pain, cramps, and period pain. It freshens the atmosphere and repels insects. It is used in various fields of alternative medicine, such as for digestive problems and against nausea.
