The Proxxon MBS 240/E bandsaw has a ribbed cast-aluminium housing and a worktable with a slot for bevel cuts and coolant drainage. The electronically controlled blade speed can be adjusted from 180 to 330 m/min, while the machine’s control panel indicates the recommended speed for almost all materials. The 5.0 × 0.4 mm blade allows small-radius cuts.

The aluminium pulleys rotate on double bearings, and the blade is guided by a three-bearing system. The guides can be adjusted for different blade widths. When using a diamond-coated blade, coolant can be supplied through a feed tube. The table tilts up to 45°, and the motor is driven by a toothed belt.
